Manufacturing Sector Contribution to GDP in Albania (1990-2022)

Albania’s manufacturing sector experienced gradual growth in its contribution to GDP from 4.9% in 1996 to a peak of 6.5% in 2022. The early 2000s saw limited growth, with the share stabilizing around 4.1% to 4.5%, likely due to limited industrial expansion. However, from 2011 onward, manufacturing showed steady increases, reaching 6.3% by 2019. This growth may be attributed to Albania's improved industrial policy and trade expansion, particularly in textiles and footwear, which became notable exports. Despite challenges from the 2020 pandemic, the sector maintained resilience, continuing its upward trend.
