Manufacturing Sector Contribution to GDP in Croatia (1995-2022)

Croatia’s manufacturing sector started with a high contribution of 18.4% in 1995, which declined following its transition towards a service-oriented economy. A decline was marked through the early 2000s, and by 2019, the share had dropped to 11.9%. The sector showed resilience during the pandemic, slightly increasing to 12.0% in 2020, stabilizing at 11.7% in 2022. Croatia’s manufacturing sector remains vital for exports, especially in pharmaceuticals and machinery, but competition from neighboring EU countries has kept growth modest.
