A market that avoids extremes

Jordanian travelers are not drawn to luxury for its own sake, nor do they always chase the lowest cost. Instead, they look for comfort that feels reasonable. Only 24% choose premium 4–5 star hotels, while the rest are split between budget-friendly and mid-range. This puts Jordan in contrast with high-luxury neighbors like Saudi Arabia (33% premium).

Jordanians Want Help, But not Full Control Handed Over

42% of Jordanian travelers prefer a hybrid travel planning model, where they arrange part of their trip themselves and leave the rest to professionals.

This approach is rare in markets like France or the Netherlands, where travelers lean heavily toward full independence. This opens the door for products like:

- Travel packages with optional add-ons

- Itineraries with adjustable dates or activities

- Trip support services (e.g., visa handling, transfers) without forcing full packages

Travel brands that insist on all-inclusive, rigid structures may lose this audience.

Calm, Not Thrill, Defines Jordanians Travelers' Purpose

Jordanian travelers mainly want to relax (49%). Wellness comes second, followed by light adventure. Cultural trips, culinary tourism, or eco-travel rank much lower. This is not a market driven by novelty or content creation. It's driven by recovery, comfort, and ease. Offerings packed with nonstop activities or urban overload are likely to miss the mark.

Jordanians’ Hottest Travel Spots Are Regional

Jordanians primarily plan air travel within the Middle East and nearby parts of Europe, such as Western, Central, or Southern Europe. Far destinations like Southeast Asia attract very little interest, just 4%.

Regional air routes with flexible schedules and affordable options are likely to perform better than long-haul flights. For DMCs and travel brands, it’s a clear signal to prioritize regional partnerships and build packages linked to Turkey, the Gulf, the Levant, and Southern Europe.
