Attitudes Toward Pets in France by Age 2023

Among 18-24 year olds, 59% express a liking for all types of pets. This preference slightly increases in the 25-34 age group to 61%. However, there's a noticeable decline in older demographics, with only 45% of 35-44 year olds sharing this sentiment. People aged 35-44 show a higher tendency (35%) to prefer specific types of pets. This selective attitude remains stable among those aged 45-54 (32%) and 55-64 (34%), highlighting a shift towards selective pet preferences as people age. Females generally exhibit a higher preference for all types of pets (57%) compared to males (44%). Males are also more likely to express indifference towards pets, with 21% stating they don’t care about them, compared to only 8% of females.
