Mortality Rate in Ghana from 1990 to 2022

Ghana’s mortality rate dropped from 80.0 in 1990 to 31.6 in 2022, reflecting progress in healthcare access and disease control. During the 1990s, the rate declined modestly to 64.5 by 2000 as immunization programs and international aid targeted malaria and maternal health.

From 2000 onwards, the decline accelerated, with the rate reaching 47.3 by 2010 and 31.6 by 2022. These improvements were driven by expanded healthcare infrastructure, better sanitation, and community health interventions. Despite progress, rural disparities and healthcare funding gaps remain challenges.
