Croatia’s export journey began modestly, with values reaching $4.6 billion in 1992. The late 2000s marked a significant expansion, with exports peaking at $14.1 billion in 2008, supported by tourism and manufacturing. The global financial crisis caused a setback, with values dropping to $10.4 billion in 2009, but steady recovery followed.

By 2023, exports reached $24.9 billion, driven by Croatia’s EU membership, which enhanced access to European markets. Growth in sectors such as pharmaceuticals and shipbuilding also played pivotal roles.
